Wow, I seem to say this every year, but I’m finding it difficult to get my head around the fact that another year is ending!  As this year draws to a close I wish to thank you for coming and having a reading with me, I sincerely hope that the messages that you received helped you on your journey through this life and also for the support I have received through Facebook.

I’m not one to get into the whole Christmas hype – I never have been, I really detest the whole commercialism of it all – though if you have friends and family that you’re able to catch up with, then that is a wonderful thing.

For those of you who may not have family or friends to share this season my thoughts and prayers are with you, it’s not a nice place to be when you’re lonely and don’t wish to be.

For those of you who don’t gel with Christmas trees and tinsel but want something more in line with Mother Earth then this is the time of year to celebrate the Summer Solstice.  Now one thing to realise with any of the celebrations of Mother Earth is that you are celebrating the SEASON and not the date!   Which is why we shouldn’t be celebrating Halloween on 31 October here in Australia, but should be celebrating Beltane!  We have it all back to front!

The festival of the summer solstice is called Litha (pronounced Lee-tha) and is celebrated around December 20-23.  It marks the longest day of the year and the shortest night and is a time of celebration, ripeness, warmth and joy.  During this celebration it is time to consolidate your strengths and clear away negative thoughts and energies.

It is also the time when the doors between worlds open up and through them flow the fairy folk who are delighted to be able to connect with us.

So surround yourself with beautiful summer flowers, light some candles (don’t set fire to the flowers!) or hang fairy lights everywhere and invite friends and family for a feast and together farewell the fullness of the sun and give thanks to Mother Earth.(The above information is extracted from White Magic by Lucy Cavendish)

A message from: – Cordelia

Take a moment to reflect on those things around you, the things that money can’t buy, look for a four leaf clover, look under a mushroom for a fairy or imp but most of all, reconnect with that child within you that when they look at all that nature has to offer, stops in wonder and uses their imagination for what may be, go outside in the pre-dawn and look at the majestic work in a spider web covered in dew, walk barefoot on the cool clean grass of dawn, breath in the clear air and listen to the birds coming to life for the new day.

Take a moment to give thanks for all that you have regardless of how small and give thanks to Mother Earth for all that she provides for you.

Surround yourself with fresh flowers and beautiful bright colours and enjoy this time of year with the longer days and the sunshine.

But most of all, be kind to yourself.

Moon report for September 2012 – by Michelle Oberdorf

New Moon:

The New Moon occurs on Thursday December 13 with the Sun and Moon conjoining at 22 degrees of jovial and spirited Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of the higher mind and journeys, including higher education, teaching, law, travel, publishing, religion, beliefs, ethics and morality. Setting enthusiastic and optimistic intentions around new explorations and adventures, including searches for meaning through various philosophies are the keys to growth and wisdom this month. Be mindful however that freedom of thought and action is not taken to excess on your discovery quests.

 Full Moon:

The Full Moon this month occurs on December 28, with the Moon at 8 degrees Cancer and the Sun in the opposite sign of Capricorn at 8 degrees. The Full Moon is a culmination time, a time for releasing that which is no longer necessary. Cancer is the sign of “home and hearth”, our roots – both our family and psychological heritage, nurturing, caretaking and emotional security. Capricorn is the sign of structure, order, practicalities, boundaries, ambition and material security. This may be a time to illuminate issues around your security needs, redressing the balance between your personal home life and your more public career if necessary. This may include placing limits and boundaries between the areas of family and work. You may also consider basing your ambitions and status on a foundation of solid emotional security.

Merry Christmas everyone! If you would like to have a personal astrology chart done or just for more information please contact Michelle on: 0404 464 740 or michelle.oberdorf@gmail.com and you can visit her website: http://www.hygeiashaven.com.au/

How do Crystals work by Trudie

Crystals have a long tradition of being used for crystal healing. Each variety of crystal has a unique internal structure, which causes it to resonate at a certain frequency. It is this resonance that is said to give crystals their healing abilities. Applying this resonance in a coherent way can help to restore stability and balance to the bodies energy systems, stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

Crystal therapy is a gentle non-invasive form of alternative healing that works holistically to harmonize the mind, body, emotions and spirit, helping to increase our feeling of well-being, neutralize negativity, lift depression and to help us to become integrated, whole beings.

Using Crystals for Crystal Healing

Crystals can be placed on specific points of the body to bring relief or can be swept over the body using, for example, a crystal pendulum healing technique or a crystal wand healing technique. Carrying or wearing a crystal that resonates with a physical condition can also gently ameliorate the condition.

Below are some examples of conditions and the crystals that can be used to alleviate them.

Headaches

The crystal used to provide relief from a headache depends on the cause of the headache.

A tension headache can be relieved by placing amethyst, amber or turquoise on or around the head. Lapis lazuli can also be used and has been employed for centuries to help treat migraines. Amethyst can be placed in a healing layout on and around the head to help relieve symptoms.

Another common cause of headaches in an imbalance between head energy and the solar plexus chakra usually brought about by stress or unsuitable food. If you suspect stress to be the cause of your headache or if you have a headache with an upset stomach use a stone that helps to balance the solar plexus such as citrine or moonstone.

Difficulty sleeping

Again the crystal needed depends on the cause of the sleeplessness. You may need to experiment as a stone that works well for one person may not work for someone else.

If you believe tension and worry are stopping you from sleeping use a crystal such a chrysoprase, rose quartz, citrine or amethyst placed by the bed or under the pillow to calm and sooth.

If you believe your restlessness is a result of overeating, iron pyrite or moonstone can be used to calm the stomach.

Lack of energy

Red, orange and yellow crystals can be used to promote an increase in energy. The most stimulating and dynamic crystals are those with bright strong colours such as such as deep red garnet, golden amber or golden-yellow topaz.

For an increase in practical motivation use deeper tones like tiger’s eye, dark citrine and jasper. Holding a clear quartz crystal, point upwards, in each hand and placing a citrine on the solar plexus can achieve a quick boost of energy to the whole system.

Some interesting facts about December

December’s birthstones are Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli, Zircon, Blue Topaz, or Tanzanite.

Turquoise: To protect against evil influences, carry a piece of turquoise in a blue charm bag on a Wednesday.

– A carved piece, brings good fortune into the house. It is often used as an evil eye counter-charm.

– Protects against poisonous bites, blindness, assassination and accidental death.

– Turquoise is known to absorb negative feelings and possess a strong healing vibration.

December’s flower is the Narcissus or Holly. Narcissus – self-love and vanity – the flower name derives from Greek mythology and the tale of the beautiful Narcissus. He ignored the lovely nymph, Echo, and so was punished by falling in love with his own reflection in a pool. Caught up in self-adoration, Narcissus died; In the place where he had sat gazing yearningly into the water, there appeared a flower that the nymphs named the narcissus.

– It became a symbol of selfishness and coldheartedness.

Holly- Druids believed that holly, with its shiny leaves and red berries stayed green in Winter to keep the earth beautiful when the sacred oak lost it leaves.

– Holly was the sacred plant of Saturn and was used at the Roman Saturnalia festival to honor him. Romans gave one another holly wreaths and carried them about decorating images of Saturn with it.

December’s trees are Hornbeam, Fig, Beech and Apple

Apple Tree.In almost every culture, the apple is ripe with symbolic meaning and mythical folklore. They can signify wisdom, joy, fertility, temptation, peace, love, masculinity, and youthfulness.

– Europeans, considered the apple, the “life-tree” symbol for a boy.

PSYCHIC PARTIES – I also do party groups where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc and it’s just $20 per reading.  These readings aren’t burnt to disc because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish.

FUNDRAISING – I’ve also done a few fundraisers, again which I am happy to do to help a good cause – I usually give a percentage of my takings for the day to help raise funds.

GROUP OF FRIENDS – If you don’t want to go the whole hog with a psychic party but there are four or so friends that would like half hour readings, I will visit you in your home – as long as it’s within a certain radius of Newcastle!  As long as I have a private spot to sit and water to drink, I’m happy!!!
