What a week of contemplating it has been for me.  A wonderful lady, whom I use to work with passed away at the age of 55.  She was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer on 7th May and passed away on the 27th May.  A beautiful life cut tragically short.

Today, I am taking another friend to hospital and staying with her while she has her chemo treatment for leukemia.

It makes you sit back and think, doesn’t it?  We spend so much of our life working hard (and nothing wrong with that) all gearing up for our retirement, when we hope that we can sit back and enjoy life.

That has really made we sit back and ask “What about enjoying life NOW?”  We need to stop focusing on retirement and taking time to smell the roses while we work towards that goal, start saving up for that holiday and do it now and not leave it until you retire.

We don’t know when it is our time to leave this earth, so we should make sure that we study the things we want to, enjoy the work we do or recognise that it is a job that pays the bills and allows you the ability to enjoy your life and have holidays.

So take a moment, if you will, and make a list of all the things that you would like to try, you don’t have to be successful at them, just those things that you want to have a go at, some of mine would be:

Singing lessons (I can’t carry a tune in a bucket and would like to be able to!)

Going to a health /meditative retreat

Learn to sew properly

Learn to have a day off (Monday’s are meant to be a day off!!)

Art lessons

Just to name a few.  What are some of the things that you would like to do?  I do not expect to be good at any of the things I have listed above, but would at least like to be able to say, “yes, I’ve tried that”.

So, start enjoying your life, whatever your circumstances, give thanks for what you have, if you can’t think of anything to be thankful for, think of something small, like toilet paper, let’s all give thanks for toilet paper!!!!  We are blessed to have it.

Namaste to all of you and love and blessings.
