Last week I was talking about signs and this week is on a similar theme.  It’s about being aware of what is going on around you and not getting stuck to one particular thought for yourself.
Let me try and explain – there was a call for flooding in the town and people were asked to leave their homes in case they were washed away, the SES went to one house to help the owner evacuate and the man said “I am staying because God will save me”, the flood waters came and they started to rise and he was up on the veranda roof of his house when an SES boat came by to rescue him again, he replied “I am staying because God wills save me”, the waters rose even high and he was on the peak of his roof when the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew over and again he refused help saying that “God will save me”.  Well, needless to say he was swept away in flood waters and drowned and when he got to heaven he went up to God and said “I trusted in you to save me but you let me die!”  God replied, I sent you an SES truck, a boat and a helicopter, what more do you want?”

Do you get it?  We can sometimes be so focussed in what we think is our path or the path that we want rather than what we need that we are actually ignoring everything around us that is telling us to go a different way.  We also sometimes get caught up in what we think will be the answers from our angels and spirit guides that we again, ignore what the real messages are.  As a human race, we don’t like to be told no, and sometimes the answer is “no” that is not the path that you should be taking, but we take it anyway and then complain about all the obstacles that we face because of our decision.

This could relate to big decisions in our life or small decisions but we have to go with the flow of life, let’s say that you have always wanted to be a Vet but you didn’t get the marks to be a vet but you keep trying everything you can to get to that point, in the meantime, everyone around you has been saying for years that you’d make a great teacher, and opportunities come up where you could study or do some volunteer work but you knock it back because you have blinkers on because you are just so focussed on being a vet – studying to be a vet you’ll probably end up unhappy with the study load or the actual job when you have had to fight so hard against the natural flow of things.  Sometimes in life we are just not meant to finish some things, but we have hopefully learnt from those things we have done.

I am not saying that if study gets a bit hard throw in your course!  I’m talking about when everything seems to be against what you think it is you want to do, maybe you should step back and reassess where you are heading because it may just need a little tweak to get you back on the right path for you.

It happened to me in a big way and I did, with the support of my husband, take a hugely different path to what I had originally thought I wanted to do, which is why I am sitting here today writing this blog!
