Are you living a meaningful life?
What is a meaningful life to you?

What it means to me is being a real person, showing my flaws and holy cow I have plenty!

Being honest.
Being kind.

To me a meaningful life is standing up for those that don’t have a voice, sharing myself with others so that they can see that what they’re not alone in what they are going through.

A meaningful life to me isn’t about being rich, unless I can do something good with my money by helping others, it’s not about being popular because when you’re being real,  people aren’t going to like it, and that’s a good thing.  Because it means that you’re standing up for something, that you’re not just conforming to what everyone expects.

I don’t think to live a meaningful life you have to be highly educated, plenty of incredible people in this world had a minimum education.  That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t continue to learn and expand what you do know.  And never assume that you know it all, because you don’t, be open to others opinions and ideas, just because you’ve thought something for a long time, doesn’t mean that you can’t be open to changing your mind.

Don’t stop learning and growing or you will just stagnate in life and never go or do anything.

A meaningful life isn’t being perfect

Perfection doesn’t exist and if you create this fake life, especially on the internet, then you’re not being real are you?  We all have tempers and get angry, we all get pissed off and we all get sad, no-one is happy every moment of every day so stop thinking that people out there have this perfect life.

Don’t expect your partner to be perfect or your future partner to be perfect either, if you’re waiting for that perfect partner that doesn’t have faults, then you’re going to grow old and be very lonely.

Focus on living what a meaningful life is to you.

That may be you want to quit your job and live in the country – then take the steps to do it. It may be that you want to earn a million dollars a year so you can support animal welfare, then go ahead and do it.  That doesn’t mean you just rashly quit your job, it means start putting the processes in place so you can do it, reassess your life, what’s important and what isn’t and start to make the changes that suit you.

A meaningful life is one where it’s not all about you, it’s about making your world a better place.  When you live a meaningful life, you’ll be content with it and also you and if you don’t want to use the word content, then replace it with happy.  Imagine how wonderful this world would be if we all lived a meaningful life.

You may not be able to change the world, but you can change your world.
