Time seems to fly, especially in the first half of the year! Here we are at the end of February ready to say goodbye to summer and hello to Autumn. The one thing that I do miss living right on the coast is the beautiful changing of the seasons – especially autumn, when the leaves of the Liquid Amber tree turn all those beautiful shades of maroon, red, orange, yellow – it creates a beautiful colourful palette to the world. I love those crisp mornings when I take our dog for his walk and the sunny but not too hot days. Beautiful.

I have secured a room to do readings from in NEWCASTLE CBD – for those that live closer to town and don’t want to travel to Weston – I will be doing readings the last Friday of the month – which will be as follows: 27th March, 29th May, June 26th, 31st July, 28th August, 25th September, 30th October and 27th November. If you would like to book to see me on these dates, you just head to my website and select the Newcastle CBD option and I will allocate you into the first available date and time. These dates are also mentioned on my website.

PAGAN FESTIVAL – Mabon

On March 21st in the southern hemisphere is the time to celebrate Mabon, this is the autumn equinox which is when both day and night are of equal length and everything is in balance. It is a celebration about giving thanks for the bounty that you have created in your life and also take a moment to grieve for the little deaths we all must endure. Have a think about what has come into your life over the past year, a new child, a relationship, perhaps a new house or you may have completed study. You have to honour the achievements that you have made, regardless of how small and also acknowledge the effort that you have put into achieving them, allowing you to move forward.
Mabon is a time to set goals for the future, clean out your fridge, repair anything broken, if you’re into cooking, making jams and preserves for the coming winter months, get rid of any old herbs and medicines. Think of it as a reverse of a spring clean – you’re getting the home snug and ready for the winter months.
If you like to partake in rituals cover your altar with beautiful autumn foods and seeds and write down the things that you have accomplished over the past year, the things that you are proud of or even some things that have meant closure to you and then bury the list in the garden somewhere – it’s nice to write the items on autumn leaves! This is a time to think about getting more balance in your life and setting the goals to achieve it.

It’s Never too late to …… tell someone that you love them

Three little words that mean so much – I love you – make sure in your hectic life that you don’t forget to tell those you care about that you love them, we sometimes take our partners and even our family for granted. It is something that doesn’t cost you anything and is a wonderful thing to receive, if someone close to you has trouble saying that they love you, don’t let it stop you from saying it to them.

Although they look gentle on the surface, they are tough on the inside, always insisting on their own opinions in their minds. They have strong inner resilience and excellent defensive instincts. Though they prefer to be in groups, they do not want to be the center of attention. They are reserved and quiet, most likely because they like spending much time in their thoughts. Good Health for “Goats” If goat people are in mental and emotional good spirits, this should have a positive effect on their physical health. Eating fresh and organic produce, and eliminating red meat from their diet when possible, is an effective way to keep healthy. They should get out among nature and commune with the great outdoors. A message from Amaterasu through Nathan Ho
This month month as we enter Autumn and turn over a new leaf, we have a message from Amaterasu, whose own story involved surrendering to the darkness and returning with greater renewed strength, courage and acceptance of herself. We are being shown the image of Chrysanthemum flower, which is symbolic to Japan and blossoms in Autumn too. It represents the beauty that emerges out of what we let go of.

“Sometimes in order to find the light, one must venture into and through the shadows, for it is in isolation that one is able to truly understand what it is that holds them back and what it is that renews them. Finding the light within yourself is a process that involves getting to know your shadows; to love them and acknowledge them as real parts of you. Out of the darkness shines new light and this is what we present you with a Chrysanthemum as a symbol of. From what is damaged in one interpretation, is the strength and growth in another, through the determination that one can possess, as well as being amongst the natural flow of life. The challenges that you face serve as hurdles to leap over, to ensure a greater sense of achievement, victory, and rest assured, whilst in the present moment you may not be able to see what blessings your challenges bring, trust that out of this situation, only good will come. Acknowledge your past and what you are prepared to let go of, and transform into the new and let your true beauty flourish.”

Blessings,
Nathan and Friends

Astrology – by Michelle Oberdorf

Astrological Overview for March 2015:
This forecast is based on your Sun sign, but if you know your Moon and Rising (Ascendant) signs please read them as well for further insight.

This is a big month, and we should start to feel the shift in energy. The final of seven exact squares (a tense 90 degree angle) between revolutionary, independent, liberating Uranus in Aries and transformative, powerful Pluto in hierarchical, structured, business-like Capricorn occurs this month, so we can breathe a collective sigh of relief after March 18. There is also a solar eclipse at the last degree of imaginative, compassionate, dreamy Pisces on March 20. A solar eclipse is an intensified new moon, and its energy can be felt for up to six months afterwards. This is the first time a solar eclipse has occurred in Pisces since 2007.

Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19): The Sun will enter your fiery sign on March 20, giving you more energy, warmth, enthusiasm and the confidence to go after what you want. Mercury will conjunct (join with) the Sun on March 30 so new ideas and projects which have been in the imaginal and behind-the-scenes realms can take root now. Venus enters earthy, stable, sensual Taurus on March 17 so make time to indulge and engage the senses, maybe have a massage or enjoy some good food and wine. Venus in Taurus also rules money, so this could be a time to either receive more money or spend more. Mars (your ruling planet) will conjunct Venus in Taurus on March 31 therefore spending most of the month in Aries, which will help keep your drive alive. In Taurus, Mars will slow your energy so ruminate over new financial or other projects, don’t rush in. Saturn goes retrograde (appears to move backwards) on March 14 in compatible fire sign Sagittarius, so over the next few months you can seriously review your belief system, and any opportunities for expansion or higher learning. A full moon occurs on March 5 in earthy, analytical, detail and service-oriented Virgo at 15 degrees, which may represent the completion of a work project, or the work you’re doing. This is also a good time to give up a bad health habits and start a new diet and exercise regime. Importantly, the first solar eclipse of 2015 occurs on March 20 at last degree of imaginative, compassionate, dreamy Pisces. Since this solar eclipse falls in your solar 12th house, a house of endings, you can decide what needs to be let go of emotionally. You can also get in touch with your spiritual side and learn to meditate or practice yoga.

Taurus (Apr 20-May 20): The Sun will enter fiery Aries on March 20, in your solar 12th house of endings, so you can put your energy into what needs to be let go of emotionally. You can also get in touch with your spiritual side and learn to meditate or practice yoga or other spiritual arts. Mercury will conjunct (join with) the Sun in Aries on March 30 so new ideas and projects which have been in the imaginal and behind-the-scenes realms of Pisces can start to take root now. Venus (your ruling planet) enters your sign on March 17 in your solar 1st house so make time to beautify yourself, buy some new clothes, turn on the charm and put your best self out there. Mars will conjunct Venus in Taurus on March 31 slowing your energy and drive so take time over where you want to put your energy, and into what projects which you bring you pleasure. DILL – by Susan Kohl
I was hoping to finish the post of Comfrey B regarding my research on who funded the CSIRO on the banning of the internal use of Comfrey on humans and the benefits for your animals. However with my internet being down for so long I am behind but I hope to have part B for you next month. So this month’s topic is about Dill, that wonderful s herb that is so delightful in our food.
Dill originated around the Mediterranean and the Middle East, it has been cultivated throughout Europe for centuries. This herb has been found in Neolithic settlements from Roman ruins in Great Britain to Switzerland. The word Dill is a Germanic word and is the most popular herb of Germany. It is an annual herb that derives from the celery family Apiaceae. It is a great companion plant to cucumber but it doesn’t work well with carrots and tomatoes. Dill has many health benefits because of its carminative properties and its consumption helps to fight flatulence and gas adding the digestive system and to improve health outcomes. The oil can be derived from this plant and it provides fragrance and medical properties from the plant and it seeds can provide up to 2 -4 percent of essential oils.
Dill can grow as high as 40 – 60 cm tall, it has softly and finely divided very delicate leaves that are thread like and that can grow to lengths of 10 – 20 cm long. The Dill flowers are often white or yellow at about 2 – 9 cm in width. The seeds are long and thick with slight curve and a longitudinally ridged surface. During the summer period this herb will bloom and set seed very quickly? It is easy to grow as long as it is never left to dry out. Dill is the best choice for the beginner to the most experienced grower. It is simple to grow and is a very forgiving plant. The one thing that Dill does like is warm to hot summers with high levels sun about 6hr of direct sunlight a day and it doesn’t like the soil to become dry. It loves moist air, so a hint of mist throughout the day also helps. You can grow Dill inside and outside the home and it grows well indoors during winter in a glass environment. When it flowers you can harvest the seeds which can last up to three to ten years if stored well. You can start Dill off from seeds by planting them in loose soil and water lightly daily, place them in the sun and in two weeks their heads should be up above the soil. This herb is so versatile and it works well in a variety of dishes and I have included the most popular dish the cucumber salad below for you to try.
GurkenSalat better know in Australia as German Cucumber Salad
Take the following and thinly slice 2 Large Cucumbers, season with salt and let rest for 30 minutes and squeeze gently any moisture out of the mixture. Take ½ cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of dried dill, 2 tbsp white vinegar and 1 tsp of dried parsley and mix together in a bowl. Fold in the cucumber and onion into the sour cream mixture. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 8 hrs or overnight and garnish with paprika to serve.

PARTIES for a big group – hens’ day, baby showers – this is where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc. and it is $25 per reading these readings are not recorded because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish, I am also happy for them to record on their phones.

If you live within a 2 – 2.5 hour drive, then a fee of $50+ to cover travel costs will be required, depending on how far you are away. And it would be a minimum of 6 x ½ hour readings and a maximum of 8. I am also okay with a mix of readings as in some having ½ hour and others 15 minutes. These are all recorded and emailed to you within 24 hours.
