As the song goes, another year is over and a new one is about to begin. This is the time when so many of us make a New Year’s resolution. I don’t like the word ‘resolution’ I don’t think many of us, if ever actually stick to a New Year’s resolution. I think we should look at things a bit differently. Look at it as setting a goal, because when you have a goal you’ll make plans, you’ll work out how to reach that goal with little steps, then put plans into action and make it happen. Instead of having a New Year’s resolution instead set yourself a goal for 2015 and deal with it like this: My goal is to …… by September and to be able to achieve that goal I need to start by doing XYZ, break it down into months, then weeks and then days so that you achieve your goal, create a vision board to keep you focused because this is something that you truly want to achieve. A goal is something to work towards, as far as I am concerned a resolution gets stated and then not much happens after that, you’re just saying this is what I’d like to do but that’s it yet a goal is stating you are going to work towards the outcome.
How about we make 2015 the year where you: Love what you see in the mirror; make time for creativity; never say no to adventure; eat more green food; send snail mail; send handwritten thank you’s; buy less; choose well; give out too many compliments; travel; be kind to strangers; volunteer your time and skills; take a cooking class; give the present of presence; learn from others; embrace simplicity.
