Things happening in my world:
MY BOOK – Christian to Clairvoyant is here! I’m very excited that this is finally out and available, it’s not that I felt my story was more important than anyone else’s but when I’ve done talks about my path and what has happened so many people came to me to tell me that I should write it in a book, because if you’ve had a very religious upbringing, you do struggle with the ‘spiritual / pagan’ path.
You can order through Amazon, at this stage it is for the Kindle version only the links are:

A Blog from October by Katrina-Jane
I’m not a football fan nor even really a sports nut, however last week I couldn’t help here the news that Jarrod Haynes from the Rugby League team of Parramatta was choosing not to sign a $6m + contract and instead, throw in his career here to take a stab at playing American Football. And you know what? I thought good on you. He stated that when he first signed up with Parramatta his goal was to buy his mum a house (what a good lad) and he did that and his childhood dream was always to play American Football.

Jarrod, not that you’ll read this but I salute you, for having the courage to follow a dream, with no way of knowing the outcome. For taking a risk, for being willing to fail for being willing to try – you won’t be on your deathbed wondering if you could have made it or not. It takes guts to throw away what we know to follow a dream, and so many of us always have the thought ‘what if I fail’ but you know what? What if you don’t? What if you take that risk and SUCCEED, how amazing would that be? It doesn’t matter what the dream is, it may just be learning to play a musical instrument, or learning another language or studying, but why put it off? OK, it may not work out as you had hoped but at least you will know and then you can move onto your next dream, you won’t wonder whether or not you could have done it.

Go Jarrod, either way, you’re a winner as far as I’m concerned, because you’re willing to risk it all and be happy for it.

It’s Never too late to…..
Watch a sunset – How often do you take the time out to watch the sun go down? To see the sky turn all those amazing colours? To just sit and take in the magnificent spectacle that it is. It is a true wonder to see none are ever the same, no artist can truly capture the essence of one. You can watch it alone or with a loved one, drink it all in and feel inspired.

Feng Shui – Basics
I bring to my newsletters some little bits and pieces of Feng Shui, which is pronounced Foong Schway, you can always go to my website to read my previous newsletters.

Most people want to know how to create more money in their lives or at least make their energy open to receiving it.
The colours of red and green are the special colours for the Prosperity area of your home / room (the exact place was covered previously). A traditional way of doing this is to place a green plant with roundish leaves, don’t use leaves with sharp or point leaves, in this corner. Next, wrap some coins in red paper and place them under the plant. As your plant grows so will your money. You need to make sure that you look after your plant, if you’re not the best with houseplants – make sure you replace it if it starts to wither and doesn’t look like surviving, if you want to use an artificial plant, remember to use one that has silk leaves and natural stems, no plastic or artificial materials..

Now, while I did mention last year that October 31 in the Southern Hemisphere isn’t actually Halloween for us, I’m sure plenty of you will be dressing up, having parties and maybe even walking around with the kids and doing some trick or treating. Make sure you enjoy yourselves!

Astrology for June – by Michelle Oberdorf

Spotlight on: Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

From October 23 until November 21, 2014 the Sun will occupy the sign of Scorpio, the Scorpion. Scorpio has a fixed quality or mode (along with Taurus, Leo and Aquarius). The Fixed modality signifies the middle of the seasons. Fixed energy is steadfast; these signs are routine, regular and have a sense of pattern. With Scorpio, imagine unabiding emotional depth and loyalty. Scorpio is one of the signs (along with Cancer and Pisces) which is also associated with the Water Element concerning feelings and emotions, instinct and sensitivity. Some keywords for Scorpio include: passion, resourcefulness and power. Scorpions can also be determined, having staying power and strength of will, however they may wish for complete transformation, which can occur through crisis. Scorpions may also be secretive, jealous and possessive, be unforgiving and seek revenge – having a “sting in the tail.”

Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto. Pluto is known as “the Lord of the Underworld,” and represents transformation, the reforming urge, death, renewal and rebirth, regeneration, endings and beginnings, power and control, spiritual growth and the subconscious mind. Strong Plutonian types, or people with Pluto dominant in their chart could highlight these tendencies (eg Pluto in Scorpio (in Dignity), Sun in Scorpio, many personal planets in Scorpio (which are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) or Pluto in the 8th house of shared resources, death and taxes, sex, mysteries, and inheritances (“Accidental Dignity”). In the body, Pluto rules the eliminative and reproductive systems, the pituitary gland and abnormal growths (moles, birthmarks, tumours etc).

Over the past 2.5 years, Saturn, the planet ruling discipline, responsibility, limitations, delays, ambition and tradition, has been transiting Scorpio, which occurs once every 28-30 years. During this transit, Scorpions or people with Saturn transiting their 8th house may have examined the power dynamics and level of intimacy achieved in our most personal relationships. Issues around power and control of partners, or shared resources and the fear of giving up that control may have come up for review. On December 24, 2014 Saturn will leave Scorpio for the sign of Sagittarius, not returning until November 2041.

Next month’s Spotlight is on Sagittarius.

This month we have a message from Hermes through Nathan Ho:
“Know and understand where your thoughts and mind are in any given situation you find yourself in. There is light at the end of every tunnel as well as a light from within that lights and leads the way. Remember that to find the way out, you need to find the way in. Draw upon yourself too, for your abilities, wisdom and knowledge are all valid too. Strive for silence and strive for success. There is a greater sense of peace and purpose evoked in knowing that you are supported in all directions and all parts of your life and being. Whenever you feel that there is an obstacle in your path, know that there is always another way.”

THYME with Susan Kohl
What an amazing herb, it has many uses from culinary, ornamental to medical. It is one of those timeless herbs whose origins date back to early Italy and Greece where it was said to have been used in bee culture. It has also been used as a purification herb to cleanse temples and homes of evil spirits. In death this herb would be placed upon coffins to help the departed through the veil into the hereafter and the Egyptians used it in their embalming process to also assist the deceased into the afterlife. Many early European’s believed this was a herb for courage and that anyone that wore it would be cleansed, protected and strengthened. Many a maiden would embroider onto a scarf a bee hovering above the Thyme flower and she would hand this to her gallant knight to protect him as he went into battle. As it is steeped in many folk laws this herb brings with it many healing properties due to the fact that it has a high antiseptic property called THYMOL.

For medical use I would suggest that you use Thyme as it aids in digestion and also helps with respiratory complaints, supports and helps fight tartar and dental disease. It is a great herb for coughs and sore throats as it antiseptic properties cleanses and cleans the germs far greater than hydroxybenzdene. It is gentle and is not irritating when used externally or internally. It is used in the cosmetic industry and by pharmaceutical companies in all their antifungal creams, mouth washes and cold products. This herb when not taken in large doses is very harmless. Ways that this herb can be taken is by making a tea, tinctures or using an essential oil. Thyme taken as a tea is great for the treatment of colds or the flu; you can also use the tea for digestive problems, diarrhoea, epileptic fits, hair loss, menstruation, stroke, skin (bath), Neuralgia, mouthwash and cystitis. Tincture preparation is great for the treatment of bad breath, fungal infections, M.S, parasites, swelling and wounds. Essential oils can be used to treat the following external fungal infections, sinus, parasites, muscular atrophy, menstruation and treatment for lice when added to a few drops of lavender and tea tree oil. This herb is also good to mix with lavender to put under your pillow to aid sleep.

Thyme originated from the Mediterranean region; if you would like to grow this herb, just like Rosemary, it likes a dry rocky soil, try not to have the soil to heavy, as this will take a lot of the potency out of the plant. Give it plenty of room to spread as overcrowded damp soil will only bring disease. I suggest that you make a lovely spiral herb garden and add some Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, Marjoram and Oregano as your plants will love it as they all love to live together in their Mediterranean rocky outcrop. If you would like some designs for a spiral herb garden just email me and I will provide you with some.

This herb has been use for centuries all over the culinary world, and it mixes well with other herbs adding amazing flavour to your food. Fresh herbs in your cooking are just amazing. I love it in my chicken stuffing; if you would like to try this recipe follow by gathering the following ingredients. Two pieces of bread and break them into small pieces into a large bowl. I add one finely chopped onion and cut into small pieces, ¼ of a zucchini, carrot, capsicum, celery, leek, broccoli, 2 mushrooms, and add small amounts of corn, peas and beans. Then I chop up sprigs of thyme, rosemary, sage and parsley into small pieces and add a crumbled chicken stock cube, and cracked pepper. I mix it all up and the smell is amazing, and the flavour that this adds to the chicken is outstanding. This recipe can be doubled or tripled for large cavities such as Turkeys as this recipe compliments the flavours of both birds. I have a saying that this recipe (is to live for). It is even better if you can cook the chicken in a camp oven just make sure you oil the chicken well. I also use this herb in combination with the Sage, Rosemary and Parsley to coat the outside of Pork and Beef try adding cracked Pepper to compliment the flavour, remember to coat the meat in oil before you apply the seasoning. Gravies always taste amazing when you use these combinations.

Moss Agate – by Jess Mountford
Moss agate has been my go to stone at present, as change and new beginnings are occurring right now! Since my current employment of 7 years is about to end at the end of October, the stone has an amazing ability to support me through this transition period. Moss agate is a form of chalcedony hence the reason it does not have the band of rings through it; however it is still a relative of agate. It is green and has milky white tones within the crystal. The stone relates to the heart chakra being predominately green, which has the ability to help strengthen the chakra itself and provides strengthening, balancing and grounding qualities as well it helps to align negative and positive energies. It helps to also support ones emotional and physical state of well-being.
Moss agate is known to encourage the growth of an individual as well as plants, seedlings and crops. Placing a stone within the soil can help your plants to flourish. It is a stone of new beginnings and provides help to relieve stressful situations at work; it can also can assist you in going for that job interview or helping you through meetings. The crystal can help with wealth and abundance (and well who wouldn’t like more of this). Midwives can also benefit from using this stone as it helps with easing the pain and delivery of a child. This awesome crystal can support someone to be persistent in pushing through something, when hope seems too been all but lost it can help ease fear of the unknown and depression. Moss agate has an extremely gentle energy about it, which makes it lovely to wear in jewellery or to carry it around with you. I have been wearing a bracelet, however it would sit lovely on your chest in the form of a pendent and can sit over the heart chakra to let it work its magic further. My bracelet has been worn over the last week due to the change in direction I am experiencing, stepping out in to the unknown. When looking at the properties moss agate it is certainly no wonder I have been drawn to it, or has it been drawn to me I wonder? I have read that crystals talk and have the ability to send particular messages to us, which part of me believes, as I have noticed that when I wear or carry crystals, they either feel so right for that particular moment. There is a type of ‘knowing’ that occurs, when to take it off, put it on or if it’s needing a recharge and cleanse. It could be that it’s telling you need the qualities of the stone at that particular time or not. I truly think that we all need to tune into this knowing to establish what we need, so that we as individuals can grow to empower ourselves. Trusting in oneself is a challenging thing to do at times but with belief it can guide us where we can head towards and not let self-doubt creep in.
Moss agate can act as a detox and helps one who may have food sensitivities. People who have food sensitivities can benefit also from this stone and people who work in the food industry can also reap the benefits of this stone too. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and helps one to recover from infections or pain. As this stone is related to matters of the heart, not only can to restore love, but it can also help to bring circulation to a regular cycle.
I personally think this gem is an under acknowledged one and has much more potential than some people give it credit for. I encourage everyone to go and get a piece of this gorgeous stone and add it to your personal collection, because as you can see it has great abilities to enhance your life. So for now have a great month ahead and I look forward to introducing the next crystal of the month in the next newsletter.
Take care from Jess Mountford

It obviously depends on where you live – if you live about an hour from Newcastle CBD, I would need a minimum of 8 people having 15 minute readings ($25 each) if you want to have ½ hour readings ($50 each) then a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people would be appreciated. If you live within a 2 – 2.5 hour drive, then a fee of $50+ to cover travel costs will be required, depending on how far you are away. And it would be a minimum of 6 x ½ hour readings and a maximum of 8. I am also okay with a mix of readings as in some having ½ hour and others 15 minutes.
