September has been a busy month. My Gorgeous Guy and I travelled to Tamworth and I did a couple of parties on the Saturday and headed home on the Sunday. Now that we have our caravan, please do contact me re: having a party we are happy to do a bit of travel and as long as I have a couple of parties to do I am happy to make a weekend of it. Driving out to Tamworth was just beautiful, the one thing I do love about the country is that you see all the seasons, lambs frolicking, calves, foals and fillies, we even drove past a poor cow that was having a calf! I could see its feet sticking out. And of course, all the beautiful trees in bloom with the bee’s buzzing around. Just beautiful. Spring is such a beautiful time of year.

In regards to Parties, I am now booked out on Saturday’s until the end of the year and I have started taking bookings for 2015.

My one day workshop was held at the end of August and it is always wonderful to see people who become confidant in their own abilities, who learn to trust their own intuition and are able to give messages to those that are attending. Because one person didn’t turn up at the last minute, it’s always a case of nerves because someone has to partner me in all of the exercises. I am very pleased to see that everyone did very well and I do think they all walked away with a better understanding of everything.

It is with a bit of a heavy heart that I am going to have to put my prices up next year though not by a lot, I haven’t raised prices for a couple of years now and my accountant has said that it is something that I need to look at, I am very hesitant about doing this because I always want to keep myself within the reaches of everyone but it looks like I may have to register for GST which changes the course of things for me and of course, the general cost of things always goes up. My new charges are going to be as follows:-

½ hour whether in person, emailed, telephone or past life will be $60.00

One question (one topic) $20

One card tarot $20

Three card tarot $40

I am also going to be adding the following readings as well:-

3 questions (each one topic) $40

And a Baby reading for the newborn in the family, covering personality etc – this is one page $40

Things happening in my world:

WORKSHOPS – I am also in the process of creating my one day workshop as an on-line option, so it won’t matter where you live, you can still do it. I’m tossing up whether to do the Kick Start your Life workshop as an online workshop or as a book – but either way, it will be something that you will be able to do anywhere in the world.

BOOK – Christian to Clairvoyant is still with the publisher and needs a bit more tweaking and then it shouldn’t be too far away.

  2. An astrology reading with Michelle Oberdorf – a great idea to help someone with decisions to make for the next year, I personally do this and Michelle is great and I think an Astrology reading is a great thing to help get yourself motivated and organised. A Blog from September by Katrina-Jane

People are constantly looking for ways to be happy, they buy a stack of stuff but the ‘happiness’ that they feel when buying it soon disappears and then they are left with stuff that they will never use – so here’s some ideas. Do something for someone else – go and do some volunteer work, not only does this make you feel better because you know you are contributing to the wellbeing of others, but you also get to see how the other half live and you may just realize that things aren’t as bad as they seem. It also gets you out of your comfort zone, gets you meeting more people and that is important – it’s about connecting with others, we have turned into a society that is very disconnected, so many of us don’t know our neighbours at all.

We as humans need to feel that we are needed and when you help others, you are realize that you are needed and that you being here and helping is an important thing and that in itself makes you feel better. Research has actually shown that generosity leads to higher levels of personal happiness and lower levels of depression.

Here are five things to do that can help you find peace and happiness:-

  1. Gratitude – be grateful every day for all that you have, keep a diary and write these things down and look at them often to remind yourself what you can be grateful for, regardless of how negative things may seem you can always find something to be grateful for.
  2. Think Positive – if you keep thinking negatively then you’re just going to make yourself miserable, there is such a thing as being a positive negative – accept that something isn’t working and then decide what you can do to change things and then positively work towards them. Don’t keep replaying the negative things in our minds. So, when you’re caught in a negative frame of mind, stop and think of what the best scenario could be.
  3. Be aware of what you say – what you say greatly impacts on your life – I firmly believe in what we ‘put out’ to the universe is what we get back this is thought as well as what we actually say. If all you talk about with your friends and family is all the ‘negative’ things in your life, well it’s going to be pretty hard to be in a positive frame of mind isn’t it? You and you alone have the power of your own thoughts.
  4. Be inspired – Read a book about someone’s life and the positive steps that they have taken to achieve things, watch an inspiring movie, when you feel like you are all alone and that no-one is around, you need to realize that you’re not alone that there are thousands of people in the world feeling just like you are, sometimes all you need is to put your life into a little perspective and realize that others have overcome the same hurdles and this can give you the hope that you need.
  5. Get Active – Actively help or be nice to people, even if you don’t feel like it – decide on one positive thing to do each day, whether buying a coffee for someone, helping someone who needs a hand with their shopping, this is where volunteering comes into play – get out there and do something to make yourself feel positive and happy and needed.

A happier and healthier life is based on positive and meaningful engagement with those around you, instead of asking yourself ‘how can I be happy’ ask yourself this ‘how can I make someone else happy’.

It’s Never too late to…..

Change your outlook on life – We all get in a rut, doing the same old, same old and the first step in changing that is to actually recognise that you are in a rut. To get out of it you need to step out of your comfort zone, explore new places, go somewhere that you wouldn’t normally go, push your own boundaries, try and think differently, try and react differently. Remain positive.

Feng Shui – Basics

I bring to my newsletters some little bits and pieces of Feng Shui, which is pronounced Foong Schway, you can always go to my website to read my previous newsletters.

Okay, so you’ve worked out the Ba-Gua in each of the rooms of your home and also the total of your home. So, now you need to decide what you want to work on first, so this month we will touch on Relationships.

If you want to improve your current relationship, the colours as stated in a previous newsletter and red and white. So you may want to put a white vase in this spot with some red flowers in it, this strengths that area of your life. Or if you prefer, you can put a photo of your and your partner in a red and white frame in this spot – the way the colours are used is entirely up to you, it’s about using the colours in the correct place.

If you are wanting to encourage a new romance into your life, you may want to place a red fan tied with a white ribbon in this spot.

Next month, we’ll look at prosperity and inviting more financial security / money into your life.

The sacred rites of love – Beltane

Beltane is celebrated this year on 31st October it is a fire festival it celebrates fertility, sensuality and to bring balance to earth with equal male and female energies. The celebration of fertility is both literal and metaphorical – this is a perfect time to think up new ideas and new projects. It was also given the name May Day obviously from the Northern Hemisphere as this festival welcomes in May or for us it should be September Day!

Welcome in Beltane with a green cloth of a natural fibre, covering your altar or table with flowers and seeds, burn jasmine incense and use green and white or gold candles – all to welcome in the God and Goddess of Spring. And don’t forget to wear flowers in your hair!

The stones associated with Beltane are: Citrine, Clear quartz, golden tiger’s eye, amber, topaz, sunstone, malachite and orange calcite.

Just remember that Halloween is NOT 31st October – because we are in the southern hemisphere! It is about the time of year and not the date.

Astrology for June – by Michelle Oberdorf

Spotlight on: Libra (September 23 – October 22)

From September 23 until October 22, 2014 the Sun will occupy the sign of Libra, which has the Scales as its symbol or ‘glyph.’ Libra has a Cardinal quality or mode (along with Aries, Cancer and Capricorn). The Cardinal modality signifies the changes of the seasons. Cardinal energy is initiatory; they are enthusiastic, action-oriented starters and enjoy “getting new things going.” Libra is one of the signs (along with Gemini and Aquarius) which is also associated with the Air Element concerning the rational mind, sharing ideas, knowledge, communication, abstract reasoning, logic and speech. Some keywords for Libra include: balance, diplomacy, grace, peace-loving, idealism and being hospitable. Librans can also be quite co-operative, sociable, artistic and companionable, and make good negotiators and mediators, however may be indecisive and crave peace and harmony at any price.

Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. Venus is associated with love and affection, partnerships, marriages and unions or emotional contracts, art, aesthetics, beauty, appreciation, sensuality, money, our sense of values, and pleasure. Strong Venusian types, or people with Venus dominant in their chart could highlight these tendencies (eg Venus in Libra (or Taurus) (in Dignity), Sun in Libra, many personal planets in Libra (which are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) or Venus in the 7th house of the Other, business and marital partnerships, projections, agreements, open enemies and dealings with the public (“Accidental Dignity”). In the body, Libra rules the kidneys, lower back and ovaries, and Venus represents our social urge for harmonious relationships and material security.

The ingress (entry) of the Sun into Libra marks the end of winter and the beginning of Spring in the southern hemisphere on September 23, and the end of summer and the Autumn Equinox in the northern hemisphere. At the Equinoxes both day and night are of equal length, with the days then becoming longer until the longest day on or about 21 December, the Sun’s ingress into Capricorn, and the Summer solstice in the southern hemisphere, heralding the beginning of Summer in the Southern hemisphere and the beginning of Winter in the northern hemisphere, experiencing their shortest day of the year.

Next month’s Spotlight is on Scorpio.

A Welcome to Spring – Queen Maeve through Nathan Ho

“Take a moment to take a step back and notice what has blossomed in your life. Look around you and look within you – looking at what steps have led you to your current position in life. It’s a time of new awakenings and new beginnings and oh what a time it is to celebrate. An appreciation of yourself, a gratitude for yourself, to reflect upon what has become present in your life. As living here has its own natural rhythms and flows, you’ve been walking this path and you’ve been harmonising with opening, closing, growth and decline. Celebrate your successes and what has been made possible in your life. Before being too quick to jump ahead and make a leap for the next step already, be still and recognise your accomplishments. The more that you acknowledge what has become a part of your life, the better you equip yourself for the next journey. Like a traveller who checks their bearings, you are indeed a perfect and most suitable member of your life to make these choices and to reach your next destination. Come along now, check in, check your surroundings and catch you breath. It’s all a part of the process. Rather than quantify your objectives and goals look at the quality of them. Look for their fine details and intricacies. It can be quite easy to feel that there is no stop or that you do not deserve to stop and rest, however, this is one of the best and most effective ways that you can recognise and acknowledge your efforts and where to go from here. Blessings to you on this day in every magickal and wonderful way.”

Tangerine Quartz – by Jess Mountford

I have been having a few dreams over the course of September and a few crystals appeared within them, the most prominent one that appeared was, well you guessed, it tangerine quartz. I first came across this crystal a few years ago when a friend had told me that a lovely lady sold crystals from her house. I went to one of her open nights and wow what an incredible collection she had in her home. I loved the way she would ask people while they were admiring and trying to choose the crystals they wanted, “any crystals smiling at you?” and well suffice to say, I had quite a few smiling back and asking me to take them home. This is when my first encounter with tangerine quartz was, it was absolutely stunning and has tiny little sparkly clusters of the crystal around it, and it looked perfect for any fairies to stop and rest on.

Tangerine quartz is created from the result of clear quartz and hematite, as water settles around it rust is then formed within the quartz giving it a lovely orange colour to it although as it has clear quartz within it parts of it may be clear. It holds many properties and can activate the sacral chakra, which then helps rid past negative experiences that may prevent us from moving forward in our lives towards a higher light. It helps with confidence, sexuality, creativity and happiness. The stone also combines these traits with the properties of clear quartz too which include, clarity of thoughts, brings about an awakening, removes negativity, allows us closer to receive messages from our spirit guides, energises all chakras and is an all-rounder when used for in healing. It is a fabulous stone to meditate with and enhances psychic abilities. So, well, generally speaking it is a truly magical crystal.

My tangerine quartz is a loose piece and it still catches my eye when I approach it, I still pick it up to admire the sparkles (this crystal still smiles at me). It can be worn as a pendent because it has a naturally formed point to it and it also can be made into beads to be created into bracelets, earrings and necklaces. I can’t say enough how lovely this stone is, it has an amazing vibration energy wise and is simply beautiful crystal to work with.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my monthly piece. Take care and have a fabulous month ahead.

Take care from Jess Mountford

Courses/Workshops with Katrina-Jan

As we are coming to the end of the year, I don’t have any workshops booked.

However, I am in the process of setting up my two workshops, Developing your Clairvoyance and also Kick Start your Life as on-line workshops – the Clairvoyance one will be first and will hopefully be reading around the time my new website is launched with the Kick Start one not long after!

Services that I offer:

PARTIES for a big group – hens’ day, baby showers – this is where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc. and it is $25 per reading these readings are not recorded because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish, I am also happy for them to record on their phones.

GROUP OF FRIENDS – I have had numerous enquiries about parties and how many people you need to host one. It obviously depends on where you live – if you live about an hour from Newcastle CBD, I would need a minimum of 8 people having 15 minute readings ($25 each) if you want to have ½ hour readings ($50 each) then a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people would be appreciated. If you live within a 2 – 2.5 hour drive, then a fee of $50+ to cover travel costs will be required, depending on how far you are away. And it would be a minimum of 6 x ½ hour readings and a maximum of 8. I am also okay with a mix of readings as in some having ½ hour and others 15 minutes. These are all recorded and emailed to you within 24 hours.

TYPES OF READINGS –

EMAILED – this allows you to ask 6 one topic questions – $50

ONE QUESTION – this is a one question, one topic reading – $10

ONE CARD TAROT – I shuffle and pull one card for you and give you an individual reading as per what the card says and what I am guided to give, no question required – $10
