Well, we’re coming up to that time of year again, New Year’s Resolutions, those promises that we make to ourselves and that we end up forgetting about by the second week of the new year. LOL

When you make a resolution, write it somewhere that you can see it as a reminder and most importantly of all, don’t beat yourself up if you forget all fall off the resolution bandwagon.  Change comes slowly with constant reminders, making a vow to ‘lose weight’ isn’t going to actually achieve anything if you don’t start with dealing with why you’re overweight, is it because of a medical reason, if so that needs to be dealt with, is it an emotional reason, well, that needs to be dealt with as well and then you have to start with shopping differently – not buying the tempting foods, finding an exercise that you enjoy not what you think you should be doing and of course, changing the way you actually approach food.  Trying to do all of that in one hit is impossible and you’ll throw your hands up in frustration.  So, just do things one step at a time, regardless of what the resolution is.  If you want to travel more, sit down, do a budget and start saving, even if $10 a week – it’s a start and as you get better with the first step and more confident, that will lead you to the next step and so on.

Oh, and set realistic resolutions that you do really want to achieve because that makes it so much easier again.

Here’s to a wonderful 2014 folks.
