How important is meditating in finding your soul purpose?

Last week I mentioned that to help find your soul purpose you need to get out there and DO things!

So you’ve been getting out into the fresh air and exercising right??!!

The next stage you need to work on is clearing your mind.

Is that a collective groan I just heard?? Because, yes I’m talking about meditation!!!

If you’re like me ….. I can’t meditate.

No, I lie.

I CAN meditate I just don’t like the traditional way of meditating!

Sitting there for half an hour trying to clear my mind is way too much hard work.  You with me on that?

If you can sit there and meditate, good for you!  That’s bloody awesome!  So, keep at it.

If you can’t do that, then try a guided meditation to help you along.

However, please don’t think that you have to sit down for an hour to meditate.

You don’t.

If you don’t want to, you don’t even have to listen to meditation CDs!!!

What I want you to try is this …..

Sit down in a quiet space for 5 minutes and just listen to the sounds around you.

The birds outside maybe a car going past and focus on breathing in and out.

If you feel your mind starting to wander and think about what you need to do later, bring it back to focus on the sounds.

Sometimes it helps for you to say in your mind breathe in as you do it and breathe out as you release the air.

It’s as simple as that.

Do this at least once a day just to give your mind a rest and you’ll find that it’s like recharging a battery and you’ll be able to focus on things much better!!!

I also believe that meditation is when you are totally focused on doing something, for me, that’s pole dancing.

You can’t think about anything else when you’re doing a move or a combination or you could injure yourself.

The point of meditation is to clear the mind, get rid of all that monkey mind chatter.

When you are immersed in your meditation, you may start to get images, words or feelings, this is your guides connecting with you.
