I cannot believe that we are at the end of July already, where has the year gone?  I’m not even going to mention how many days until Christmas … I’m more concerned with my up and coming birthday!!!

As some of you know I went to Perth in June for my grand-fathers 90th birthday and it was something that I was wrestling with, mainly because there was just so much going on at that time, the week before we moved house and then off to Perth, but I went with my heart and not my head, and how thankful I am, my grand-father had a fall at his home about 3 weeks later and passed away.  So I am just sending up thanks to my Spirit guides and angels for making me realise that I had to go.

Lots of goings on with my Facebook page, for some reason I stopped being able to see everyone that had liked the page and was only seeing the latest 500 people, which isn’t too fair when picking the winners of the free ½ hour readings, which I do every time I get another 100 likes, and also people would be missing out for the free mini readings, which I do at random when I have time.  So after much frustration I decided to create an excel spreadsheet and typed in over 1000 names and then for some reason it wouldn’t allow me to sort the names alphabetically, which I needed to do to make sure that people weren’t doubled up!!!  After much angst and threats to throw my laptop out the window, Spirit intervened before my husband called the funny farm and it suddenly allowed me to do the sorting, I can honestly say I have no idea what I did to make it work, but it is working just fine.  I have also found a random selector on line which picks the names for me!  So, the hard work is done and it is just a matter of adding the new people.  Whew.

I also did a couple of parties in July – a very busy baby shower – I don’t think I’ve seen so many gifts have you Di??!!!  It was a lot of fun and a beautiful day with the sun shining so I got to do the readings outside in the sunshine.

I then went on to do a birthday party and am sad to say I wasn’t informed that it was a pyjama party so I turned up formerly dressed when I could have been wearing my cookie monster Pj’s, Winnie the Pooh dressing gown and fluffIy slippers!!  LOL but another great night.

I love doing parties because of the fun atmosphere and meeting so many wonderful people all at the same time!

For those that follow my Facebook page you will know that I reached 1000 likes and the winner was selected.  We will be having a high tea at The Sebel and she will bring along a friend for that and also they will both get a free ½ hour reading – I’ll let you know how it went in the next newsletter.

FRIDAY 13TH

As I am sure you are all aware, we had a Friday 13th in July, which got me thinking about the superstitions around it so I did a bit of a Google search and this is what I came up with:-

There is no written evidence about Friday 13th being a superstitious day before the 19th Century! 

There are several theories about the origin of this superstition and some of these are:-

  • It is an amalgamation of two older superstitions, that 13 is an unlucky number and that Friday is an unlucky day – so obviously put the two together ….
  • In numerology the number 12 is considered the number of completeness, as reflected in the 12 months of the year, twelve hours of the clock, the 12 gods of Olympus, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 Apostles of Jesus, etc., whereas the number 13 was considered irregular, thus transgressing this completeness.  There is also some thought that the last supper and also a Norse myth that having 13 people seated at a table will result in the death of one of the diners!
  • Friday has been considered unlucky since at least the 14th century and many professions regard Friday as an unlucky day to undertake journeys and begin new projects for instance.  Black Friday has been associated with stock market crashes and other disasters since the 1800s.
  • One person notes that references pretty well don’t exist to Friday 13th before 1907 but a popular novel was published that year titled Friday, the thirteenth where an broker takes advantage of the superstition to create a Wall Street panic on Friday 13th.
  • If you have a fear of Friday the 13th you have friggatriskaidekaphobia – Frigga being the name of the Norse goddess for whom Friday is named and the rest being a fear of the number 13.
  • The Dutch Centre for Insurance Statistics states that fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur on Friday 13th, possibly because people are just more careful on this day!

So there you go, no reason at all really to be worried about Friday 13th!!

It’s Never Too Late ……

It’s never too late to say sorry, this can take a lot of courage, but it is truly worth the effort, it releases you from the guilt that you may be feeling and it also acknowledges the other persons hurt, which they can then release and then both of you are able to move forward in your lives.  Think of it as a new beginning for both of you.

Full Moon:

The first Full Moon of the month occurs on August 2 with the Moon at 11 degrees Aquarius and the Sun in the opposite sign of Leo at 11 degrees. The Full Moon is a time for releasing anything which is holding us back. Aquarius is the sign of friendships, group involvements, individuality, and mentally connecting with the new and unusual. Leo is the sign of creative self-expression, drama, generosity, loyalty, and wanting to shine from the heart. This may be a time for exploring innovative solutions for balancing friendships, group-orientations or humanitarian ideals with your own creative, dramatic, generous, self. Reflect upon how this can be achieved without becoming either too impersonal, detached and objective (Aquarius), or too egocentric, passionate or theatrical (Leo).

New Moon:

The New Moon occurs on August 18 with the Sun and Moon both coming together at 26 degrees of Leo. The New Moon is a time for planting new seeds in the areas of life you would like to see grow. Since this New Moon takes place in the sign of Leo, it may be time to reset our goals and intentions around our creative self-expression, and ways for letting your warmth and love shine, giving generously from the heart to yourself and others.    

Full Moon:

The second Full Moon of this month (called a ‘Blue Moon’) occurs on August 31 with the Moon at 9 degrees Pisces and the Sun in the opposite sign of Virgo at 9 degrees. The Full Moon is a culmination point where we can release and renew our plans. Pisces is the sign of compassion, sensitivity, imagination, intuition and spiritual service. Virgo is the sign of day-to-day practical service, analysis, discrimination, using information efficiently and attending to details. This may be a time for bringing to conclusion old ways of “knowing”, and for grounding and stabilising our spiritual ideals. This may be attained through acts of service or through practices such as meditation or yoga, bringing together spirit (Pisces) and matter (Virgo) for healing body, mind and spirit.

For those of you who are unaware of what I have been doing on my Facebook page, I have been randomly doing mini tarot/clairvoyant readings on no given day when I am inspired to pick someone who has “liked” my facebook page – So make sure you “like” my facebook page. 

I try to do this at least once a week so keep an eye to see if you have been selected and what your message says!  I see it as a little thank you for your support.

FUNDRAISING – I’ve also done a few fundraisers, again which I am happy to do to help a good cause – I usually give a percentage of my takings for the day to help raise funds.

GROUP OF FRIENDS – If you don’t want to go the whole hog with a psychic party but there are four or so friends that would like half hour readings, I will visit you in your home – as long as it’s within a certain radius of Newcastle!  As long as I have a private spot to sit and water to drink, I’m happy!!!

Types of readings:

I offer a few different ways to have a reading, they are all ½ hour and cost $50AU:-

  1.  Face to face – where you come into my room here at Newcastle and your reading is recorded and burnt to disc at no extra charge.
  2. Telephone – for those that live in Australia
  3. SKYPE – for those anywhere in the world!
  4. Emailed reading – for those that find it difficult to come in for a reading or line a time up for a phone reading or SKYPE.

All readings are just as effective as the other, a face to face reading is no different from a phone reading, I just offer all of the above for your convenience.
