Life has been a tad hectic of late, my husband has being driving all over the East Coast of Australia with work leaving me at home to look after the cat!  We are also about to jump on a plane at the end of August back to Vietnam for my husband’s business, it will be a very short visit – pretty much a long weekend, but I’m not complaining as any break we get is very much appreciated!

IMBOLC (pronounced IM-bolk) this year is on 7^th August for those learning or following the pagan path.

Imbolc is all about celebrating change, which is interesting as I did my ‘message from’ before typing this part and it was all about accepting change!!, Our season is now winter heading into Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere and we should celebrate all that takes place during this time.

What to do at this time of year?  Well, how about clear out the old and welcome the fresh new things into your life.  Even for those that love winter, there does come a time when you just want to be warm again and start seeing the flowers blooming and fresh buds appearing on the trees.

In the US this day is celebrated as Groundhog Day.

Some of the ways to celebrate Imbolc is to get up early and wash your face with the first dew, this cleanses your face and is said to have magical energies.

This is also a wonderful time to clear your home, de-clutter because space clearing is all about finding, creating and maintaining an environment where you feel comfortable and safe.  You will instinctively know what you should get rid of, move to another spot, or completely revamp.  You are constantly growing and changing so you should make sure that your home suits who you are at this time.

Imbolc is a fire festival so if you have an alter light nine candles and place them in a circle – in the southern hemisphere place them anti-clockwise and welcome in the new energy and allow the candles to wash away any old energies that no longer serve you.

Think of this festival as a snake shedding its skin – it’s still a snake but has a new outlook on life.

It’s Never too late to…..  Take a trip.  Getting out of our comfort zone is very difficult to do, but at the same time it’s usually a wonderful thing, taking a trip – regardless of where, just somewhere different to the norm opens up so many new things to you, you get to meet new people, make new friends, refresh your life, learn new things, compare things to your usual way of doing things, a change of scenery and an adventure!  So don’t put off that trip regardless of how small.

A message from: Butterfly Maiden (Hopi Native American Spirit) – Don’t be afraid of change, it’s not always a bad thing, we need the changes in our life to grow both spiritually and emotionally and it can be scary to accept the things that are now different and changing, but we have to also let go of the old things that no longer are any good for us or are stopping us from growing and that can be the most difficult thing of all as you tend to cling to people and things which no longer serve you.

Feng Shui – Basics

I thought I would bring to my newsletters some little bits and pieces of Feng Shui, which is pronounced Foong Schway.

Yin and Yang – Yin is often represented as female, night, moon, passive, dark cold and softness.

Yang is represented as male, day, active, light, heat and hardness yet each force carries the seed of the opposite within.

Qi or chi – Is best translated as life energy, vitality, cosmic breath or the invisible life force.  You will find it mentioned a lot in Feng Shui.

Five Elements – Qi energy can be classified into five basic patterns, moods, qualities or types – Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth.

The nine celestial cures mentioned last month are ways of adjusting the qi life energy to your benefit as it moves through your house, garden or workplace.  It can sometimes move too fast or too slow and this affects your mood and the energy of your home.

Ba-Gua – is an ancient technique you can use to transform your life – in practice it is an eight sided symbol of eight life treasures:  prosperity, fame, marriage/relationships, children, helpful people, career, wisdom and family/health.

I’m in the planning to head to Tamworth for a few days to hold a workshop and do readings – hopefully, this will be organised by the next newsletter.

Services that I offer:

PSYCHIC PARTIES – I do party groups where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc and it’s just $25 per reading.  These readings aren’t burnt to disc because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish.  If you live within an hour of Newcastle CBD there is a minimum of 10 people for a party like this.

FUNDRAISING – I’ve also done a few fundraisers, again which I am happy to do to help a good cause – I usually give a percentage of my takings for the day to help raise funds.

GROUP OF FRIENDS – If you don’t want to go the whole hog with a psychic party but there are four or so friends that would like half hour readings, I will visit you in your home – as long as it’s within a certain radius of Newcastle!  As long as I have a private spot to sit and water to drink, I’m happy!!!  If you live further than an hour from Newcastle CBD I would require a minimum 6 ½ hour readings and yes, I will drive to Sydney!  I would say that my limit would be a maximum of about 2 hours because I would just be too tired upon arriving to do the readings!

Types of readings:

I offer a few different ways to have a reading:-

1.            Face to face – where you come into my room here at Newcastle, this can be for an hour or ½ an hour and your reading is recorded and emailed to you at no extra charge.

2.            Telephone – this is a ½ hour reading and for those that live in Australia and is recorded and emailed to you.

3.            SKYPE – ½ hour reading for those anywhere in the world!

4.            Emailed reading – ½ hour and again for those that find it difficult to come in for a reading or line a time up for a phone reading or SKYPE.

All readings are just as effective as the other, a face to face reading is no different from a phone reading, I just offer all of the above for your convenience.
