Being thankful
I love the saying that I used today – Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have.
What this means to me is truly giving thanks for the little things and the big things. If I were to list all the health problems I’ve had, and all the “bad” things that have happened in my life, most people wouldn’t believe it!
I choose not to think of those things, except in a positive light – it’s not something that I was able to do overnight, believe me, but I am truly in a space where I am happy and content. All the things that I have been through, have helped turn me into the person that I am, and I am not perfect by any means! But it has given me the ability to be compassionate and have a true understanding of what people are going through, especially when they come in for a clairvoyant reading with me.
Not sure where to start? Sometimes we can be in a place where we can’t think of anything to be thankful for because everything seems to be going “wrong”.
I’ll give you a starting push. Toiletpaper. Be thankful for toiletpaper, I mean imagine what we would have to be doing if we didn’t have it. That’s a great place to start. Don’t overwhelm yourself with trying to think of things, for instance, today it’s raining and pretty miserable weather, but be thankful for the rain, it provides water for us to drink, it nourishes the plants so that they grow and provide fruit and vegetables for us and also the beauty of flowers. So yes, it’s a dark and dismal day but what a fantastic day to help renew the earth!
We’re just moved into a new home – well, it’s built in the 1890’s and is very old and cold, but I’m thankful that I have enough clothes to layer myself up and keep warm. J
See? It’s simple to do, once you get the hang of it – and then as you get into that place of contentment and being happy with what you have, you are allowing more to come to your life.
Now, it’s your turn, what are YOU thankful for today and in your life in general?
