This is my last newsletter for 2015 and it’s amazing to think that another year is drawing to a close.
So much has happened this year some amazing and exciting and some not so much so.

Reflecting on the past year, so much has happened as I am sure it has to you as well! It seems to have gone so quickly but we also seem to have packed so much into a year as well. Nothing stays still and while we have had a jam packed year there is so much that has happened just in this past month!

• Sad news as well, my Uncle has been diagnosed with an aggressive high rated prostate cancer which will see him face a battle over Christmas and the New Year

• A beautiful elderly gentleman that we refer to as our Wauchope Dad has been very ill with a collapsed lung and it looks like his heart is just too tired to pump the blood properly around his body. He truly is the most beautiful man and the father that my Gorgeous Guy and I both wish that we had had. A gentleman in every sense of the word.

• I have been getting lovely reviews for my children’s book Do you see what I see? With my publicist working very hard to get this book out there to the public, which is never easy to do when you are self-publishing so hopefully, as the publicity machine gears up – things will start happening! Woot Woot

• My last One Day Workshop for the year was held on Saturday, 31st October in my rooms in Bolton Street, Newcastle. As always a lovely group of ladies who had never met each other before came along and were so encouraging to each other. I love doing these where I can see the amazement in people’s faces when they realise their own potential!

So, as we are saying farewell to 2015 and wrapping up another year and tucking it away into our memories, we have to start gearing up for 2016 and all that it may bring, hopes and dreams fulfilled and some dashed, good news and sad news but please keep focusing on learning and being the best person that you can be.

Some more exciting news, I have written a companion book to my children’s book Do you see what I see? And it is with the illustrator now and discussing titles and layouts with the publisher – the first book is going to be re-printed in a larger size and we will be launching this next one with it – to give you a bit of a teaser it explains dying to children but not from a biblical / religious point of view.

It’s never too late ……. To break away from the herd
It takes courage to be who you want to be, who you know you are. But think of all the amazing things that can happen when you start living the life that you want, not the life that is expected of you. So many doors will open and others will close, and you will continue to grow and the most important thing is, you’ll be happy, not worrying about what others are doing or thinking and just being you.

December Crystal by Katrina-Jane
If you were born in the month of December, certain gem stones have more vibrational power and healing for you than other stones because they are associated with the time of your birth. Over the centuries there have been numerous traditions connected to a particular gemstone so therefore, you may have more than one stone for your month.

The December birthstone is traditionally Turquoise, the more modern stones are Lapis Lazuli and Bloodstone – I am going to touch on the Turquoise for you this month.

Turquoise is one of the oldest protection amulets, and was also known as a symbol of wealth in many ancient cultures. Strength, protection from harm, psychic sensitivity and connection to the spirit world
If given a turquoise by a loving friend, that stone would protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune. The turquoise is the symbol of friendship. It also brings peace to the home.
This stone is a very personal and meaningful stone to one who wears it. Turquoise takes on the characteristics of the owner.

Turquoise carries great wisdom of basic truth within it. It is one of the oldest stones known. This is a stone that a person must learn to attune to instead of the stone attuning to the person. It is important that the owner of a Turquoise give it the proper attention.

Healing properties of Turquoise
It Neutralizes overacidity, alleviates rheumatism, gout, stomach problems, viral infections, Increases growth, muscular strength, Alleviates pain, relaxes cramps, Contains anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects.

Susan Kohl – Permaculture – Carrot ( Daucus Carota)
This amazing vegetable originated in Afghanistan, this crisp root vegetable usually with orange fresh although I have grown purple and white varieties is the most amazing of vegetables. Wild carrots were tough, pale fleshed and hardy and dated back to the Bronze Age, 2000 – 3000 BC. How do we know this because seeds were found in burial sites? Wild carrots were spread around as Queen Anne’s lace (a garden plant) then with their introduction to the Mediterranean region their shape and flavour improved.

There are a vast range of seeds available on the market and it can be planted all year round. However, in places like Tasmania you will need a green house to keep this crop growing all year round. Carrots like light sandy warm soil that has been manured the previous season, do not manure that season as this will cause forking in the carrot. Scatter seeds and cover with a thin layer of soil. To produce sweet succulent carrots, water regularly and to protect the seeds cover with some shade cloth until the shoots appear. Carrots are usually planted to thickly so thin out some of the small carrots and enjoy the sweet roots and leaves. You can also let carrots go to seed and this will allow for you to collect more seeds for future years. Did you also know that you can buy carrot tops and replant, and this is also a great way to get your children started in the garden?

In the America’s the carrot was used as a therapeutic herb against health conditions such as nervousness, asthma, oedema and skin complaints. Carrots are a great source of Vitamins A from beta – carotene), B complex and C. Minerals that can be found in the carrots are Iron, Phosphorus, Calcium, Sulphur , Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium. However, vitamin A is reduced when cooked. The water when cooled can be put back onto carrots seedlings or other plants. The same is also said for vitamin C it is reduce by a third when cooked. It also contains asparagines this facilitates healing by attaching itself to Vitamin A, so if possible always use raw if possible; especial you need this if you are on the mend from an illness. Another thing to remember is that the humble carrot is also a anti-inflammatory vegetable which contains the alkaloid property Daucasine.

If you do like carrot juice please be careful as too much carrot juice can poison the body and because of the Daucarine it can also turn your skin orange! Please remember that anything in moderation is good for you so always juice with other vegetables or fruits such as celery or apple or combinations of all three.

PARTIES for a big group – hens’ day, baby showers – this is where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc. and it is $25 per reading these readings are not recorded because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish, I am also happy for them to record on their phones.

GROUP OF FRIENDS – I have had numerous enquiries about parties and how many people you need to host one. It obviously depends on where you live – if you live about an hour from Newcastle CBD, I would need a minimum of 8 people having 15 minute readings ($25 each) if you want to have ½ hour readings ($50 each) then a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people would be appreciated. If you live within a 2 – 2.5 hour drive, then a fee of $50+ to cover travel costs will be required, depending on how far you are away. And it would be a minimum of 6 x ½ hour readings and a maximum of 8. I am also okay with a mix of readings as in some having ½ hour and others 15 minutes. These are all recorded and emailed to you within 24 hours.

TYPES OF READINGS –
EMAILED – this allows you to ask 6 one topic questions – $70
ONE QUESTION – this is a one question, one topic reading – $25
THREE QUESTIONS – you are able to ask three one topic questions – $55
ONE CARD TAROT – I shuffle and pull one card for you and give you an individual reading as per what the card says and what I am guided to give, no question required – $25
THREE CARD TAROT – as per the one card reading however one card represents your past, present and future. – $55
IN PERSON READING – this is for a ½ hour reading face to face with me – $70
TELEPHONE READING – a half our reading with me directly for ½ hour, available for Australian residents only – $70
DREAM INTERPRETATION – You send me through the information in the dream that you have had that you would like more clarity on and I will provide short dream interpretation for you – sometimes there are hidden meanings, sometimes there are not and sometimes they will be a dream that is ‘foretelling’ as in you have been provided a future glimpse by your loved ones. – $30
BABY READING – This is for the new member of the family, a general one page reading giving an outline of their personality, areas of interest and things they may achieve and also some hints in regards to the more negative aspects of their personality and how to understand them.
No photo is necessary just their name and date of birth, if a name that could be taken for either sex, please let me know if a boy or girl, the reason being is sometimes I pick up their strongest energy and it could be male – even though a girl. – $50
