Do you know what your journey is?
Have you ever wondered what life is about?
I’m talking about your journey.
Yours, not anyone else’s.
We all seem to wonder what it is in life that we are supposed to learn, when things happen to us we ask what was the lesson in this for us?
I don’t believe it’s wrong to do that, but bear with me for a minute.
What if our journeys aren’t really about becoming something?
What if we are supposed to flip it on its head and when we become adults and are free to make our own choices it’s about unbecoming everything that you’ve been brought up to be?
Because when you think about it our parents / families have raised us to be what they believe is the best for us, whether that entails religious beliefs or not, whether you’re racist or not, equality or not and we learn by observation so we look at what our parents have done and we either do the same or the opposite. They have shaped you to be the daughter or son that they want.
So, when you’re an adult, maybe the journey is about unravelling all of that, to actually work out who it is you were meant to be in the beginning, that your childhood just threw things into the mix to make you possibly work harder to find out who you are, to be comfortable with who you are, to question all that you have been led to believe. If you’re parents for example, were academics you may realise that you want to believe in fairies and unicorns and who is to say that you can’t?
It’s not easy to go against the grain, when you start stepping out of their ‘world’ people don’t like it, they don’t like it at all, in fact they fucking hate it! What do you mean you’re questioning their beliefs / habits etc. By dong this, you will actually work out who you are it’s not an easy journey and believe me, I know – if you haven’t read my biography Christian to Clairvoyant, it’s all in there.
Sit down and look at your beliefs and habits, why do you believe them? Is it because what you’ve been taught? Or did you do your own research and it all resonates with you as being true?
You’ll meet brick walls from those that don’t like the fact that you’re not ‘toeing the line’ but that’s the only way that you can be you, by doing your own research into different beliefs and ways of life and working out which one makes you feel good about yourself.
Let me know how you go!
