How to set your New Years resolution?
What propels you to make that maybe rash decision at 11.59pm on New Years Eve to set your New Years resolution?
You are feeling fat and bloated after all that Christmas food, so you then decide that you’re going to get healthy?
Maybe you’ve been enjoying that time off and have decided you hate your job and want to do something else? However, you are not quite sure what?
Just FYI there’s no apprenticeships for millionaires, I’ve already checked!
We’ve all done it, haven’t we? Set that intention to be ‘more focused on business’, ‘work for myself’, give up smoking/drinking, lose weight …
We give it a couple of days or maybe a week and then what?
Nothing.
A big fat zero.
We either completely forget all about that resolution, are not motivated to achieve it, or don’t know where to start.
Setting your resolution.
When you set an intention (notice, I’ve changed from ‘resolution’ to intention) you need to remember a couple of things.
Is it something that you really want to achieve / do / become? Like, really, really?
If you’re intention is only half-assed, that’s why you’re not going to do anything about it and why you’re not motivated to change.
I know for some it just becomes a pipe dream that they have absolutely no idea in how to get to that destination.
So you really want it?
If you don’t want to change 100%, then don’t bother at all, because it’s just words that you say on New Years Eve. They don’t mean anything at all.
If you really want to change, then your intention needs to become a goal. This then needs to be broken down into little steps, which then leads you to that destination.
Don’t make the changes that you really want in your life just become words.
Intention, goals, steps, manifesting, energy all of these tie into change – don’t think for a moment that they don’t.
