Is Regret Eating You Alive?
We all have regrets in life and if there is one thing that I would like you all to understand is that you can’t dwell on things you feel a twinge of regret over.
Why?
Because when you regret something and dwell on it, that then will turn to guilt. This guilt is then going to overwhelm you and suffocate you in ways that you just can’t fathom at the moment.
Or maybe you can, because you’re there, trying to hold yourself up in the sea of guilt and gasping for breath and not knowing how to get through it.
Start swimming – staying put isn’t helping! And the first place to start is right here now, reading this.
You need to remember this – that everything happens for a reason… EVERYTHING. The good and the bad – it is all meant to be as it is. Because that’s how we learn, that’s how we grow. If everything went along just as we wanted it would be a pretty bloody boring place.
So, if you weren’t there when a loved one died, if you had a fight with someone and that was the last thing you said, if you missed someone because you didn’t turn around when they called or vice versa – it was meant to be that way.
It really was…
Don’t let your regret swallow you up and take over your life, because that’s not how you’re supposed to live. That’s not living… that’s just existing.
Instead, focus on what you want to achieve or where you want to go instead of focusing on what you wanted, or thought that you wanted.
It’s OK, it really is, because those things were meant to happen that way.
