June 2015 Newsletter
Well, we are now in Winter here in the Southern Hemisphere and hasn’t it arrived with a bit of a bang! While we were in New Zealand having a holiday our hometown of Newcastle was hit with tremendous storms and flash flooding – fortunately for us, our home was fine apart from a little bit of water getting in and we never lost power, unlike some poor folk who waited 5 days for power to be restored. One thing about something like that happening is you hear all the good stories of people that invited neighbours into their homes to charge phones or have a shower or a hot cup of tea, things like this can bring out the best, and unfortunately the worst in people. But I like to focus on the good!
New Zealand was just beautiful. It really was, the scenery and waterways were just divine, if you follow me on my Facebook page you would have seen some of the pictures that I posted. Postcard picture perfect. There was an earthquake while we were over there but we didn’t feel anything at all – we visited Christchurch and were amazed at the utter devastation that is still there – a lot of the city looks like a parking lot and a war zone, very sad to see. I have a huge fear of heights and decided to face the fear so while we were in Queenstown I did the Shotover canyon jump – I also put it on my Facebook page and also on YouTube if you want to watch my Gorgeous Guy’s filming here is the link .. http://youtu.be/GicBN1Crk3E
It was lovely to be able to recharge the batteries – we just hired a car and each day woke up and decided what we were going to do or where we would drive to, that’s our idea of a nice relaxing holiday.
Well, Mothers Day has come and gone and this week just gone I went to Port Macquarie to take my mum to the specialist where she was diagnosed with dementia so the task ahead of us now is to not get angry with her when she constantly repeats herself, to get help in with the ACAT team so that assistance is there for my step-father when needed and I of course, will be heading up there a lot more to give my step-father a break when he needs it. It’s definitely not a journey I wanted to have to take, watching my mother slowly deteriorate, however, all I can do is make the most of the time I have with her now and make her life as stress free as possible.
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING:-
As mentioned last month, Friday night of the 8th May I was the speaker at a fundraising event held by Anthony Burke raising funds for the Hunter Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer institute that was held in Cessnock – we raised $1500 for the night and I had an absolute blast chatting with and doing readings for a group of 49 people.
My ongoing commitment to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter High Tea at both Terrigal and also Magenta shores will also be taking place this year – the first was on Sunday, 24th May at Magenta Shores and then later on in the year, I will be at the Crowne Place, Terrigal for their high tea there – I charge $5 for 5 minutes and 100% goes to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, I donate all of my time to all of the charities I work with, I have never nor will I ever charge a ‘performance fee’.
I have cancelled my one day workshop – as there weren’t enough numbers however I have rescheduled it now to be on Saturday, 12th September.
I am coming to SYDNEY! I am doing a one off day at the Hawkesbury Natural Therapy Centre which is located at 1/187 Windsor Street, Richmond on Saturday, on Saturday, 25th July if you would like to have a reading with me please email me in the first instance katrina@katrina-jane.com as the booking option won’t be on my website for Sydney – I will give you a time and then pre-payment will need to be made within 24 hours to hold your appointment.
My GG is doing some work at Narrabri and I am thinking of coming out with him for a few days and doing readings – so just asking for expressions of interest – I would be doing the readings from my motel room. We are looking towards the end of June or early July through the week not a weekend. If you would be interested please email me katrina@katrina-jane.com
YOUTUBE: If you would like to subscribe to my YouTube ‘channel’ I do a little tarot reading for the day or I do some explaining of things, its not something that I do every day and I should do more of it – though I try to do one a week, you just need to get onto YouTube and type in Katrina-Jane Clairvoyant Medium and then click on my link!
It’s never too late …….to fly a kite
When was the last time you actually took the time to take a kite to the park and fly it? Have you ever done it? Maybe you could make one with your children or grand-children and then take them to the park and everyone have a turn at flying it. Find the child within yourself and just abandon yourself to the highs and lows of the kite as it flies in the wind.
June Crystal by Katrina-Jane
If you were born in the month of June, certain gem stones have more vibrational power and healing for you than other stones because they are associated with the time of your birth. Over the centuries there have been numerous traditions connected to a particular gemstone so therefore, you may have more than one stone for your month.
June stones may be either Pearl, Turquoise, Emerald, Moonstone – I am going to touch on turquoise for you this month. Turquoise is one of the oldest protection amulets, and was also known as a symbol of wealth in many ancient cultures. Strength, protection from harm, psychic sensitivity and connection to the spirit world. If given a turquoise by a loving friend, that stone would protect the wearer from negative energy and bring good fortune. The turquoise is the symbol of friendship. It also brings peace to the home. This stone is a very personal and meaningful stone to one who wears it. Turquoise takes on the characteristics of the owner. Turquoise carries great wisdom of basic truth within it. It is one of the oldest stones known. This is a stone that a person must learn to attune to instead of the stone attuning to the person. It is important that the owner of a Turquoise give it the proper attention.
Healing properties of Turquoise – it should be worn on the solar plexus
• Neutralizes over acidity
• Alleviates rheumatism, gout, stomach problems, viral infections
• Increases growth, muscular strength
• Alleviates pain, relaxes cramps
• Contains anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects
Astrological Overview for June 2015 by Michelle Oberdorf:
This forecast is based on your Sun sign, but if you know your Moon and Rising (Ascendant) signs please read them as well for further insight.
The news this month is that Mercury, planet of communication, is still retrograde (appearing to move backwards in the sky) until June 11 in its home sign of Gemini so we are still reflecting upon and reviewing our communication patterns during this phase. Also, All month we have a positive trine aspect between Uranus and Jupiter so there could be an expansion of your individual self-expression and a sudden urge for freedom from restrictive conditions.
Aries (Mar 21-Apr 19): We start the month with a full moon in Sagittarius on June 3 across your 9th and 3rd houses. This is the area of beliefs, so broaden your vision and dream the (im)possible. A message from Kathumi through Nathan Ho
“In order to be the one bringing changes into your life that sustain you and allow your Spirit to shine, you need to be a part of that change from the very core of your being. Be the change that you want to be, not just physically, but mentally, spiritually and emotionally too. Imagine yourself like a musician who is playing music that needs to be fine tuned to the exact same frequency and pitch of the vibrations of the Universe. All in all on these airwaves, it is about you matching your harmonics together so that they can bring about the changes that you are wishing for your highest good. There is no such thing as impossible, for it all begins at a mental level that influences each and every other part of your being, inside and out. There is no room for excuses, as this is a time for you to truly shine and be and come as you are. Be who you are destined to be, come as who you were yesterday-renewed and reborn. Today is the day to put your foot down and to make a lasting impact that moves the mountains that stand slightly in your path. There is peace in knowing that you are the one in control, as no other person, place or thing outside of you can tell you otherwise. We are all here to guide and support you on your journey. Trust yourselves enough to be able to ask for help to initiate or continue these changes in the worlds beyond your own. You are a being of miracles and a being capable of great miracles.”

SAGE – Salvia Officinalis – Family of Lamiaceae by Susan Kohl
The herb of Wisdom
This is one of my favourite herbs; it comes from a group of horticultural important plants that consists of over 750 varieties. The Sage is a wonderful medical and culinary plant, and it originated in the Mediterranean region and in the south-eastern Europe Balkan regions. The most common and easily grown of all of them is the Grey Sage or the garden Sage. They grow from 30 cm to 70 cm tall with woody erect base with many branches. During the warmer months it produces violet – blue flowers with 5 – 10 terminal spikes, very attractive for our bees. In the Mediterranean environment it will grow on the rocky limestone cliffs and slopes up to altitudes of 750 metres. It can be grown in spring from the seeds, cuttings or layering, it flourishes well in sandy, alkaline soil. Also at this time take the woody old leggy plant and with the root cutting you can grow it again. This herb is very hardy and drought tolerant but hates wet feet.
As I said before there are various varieties that can be grown for medicine or for culinary purposes. It can be used fresh or dried, and is a very rich source of minerals such as potassium, zinc, calcium, manganese, magnesium, copper and iron. We should all know the importance of potassium in our diet as it is the component that builds our cells and body fluids, which in turn helps to control our heart rate and blood pressure. Here are three different Sages and their uses throughout the world. Three-Lobes Sage is a large perennial with lobed leaves, and commonly employed in Greece in the preparation of their Sage Tea. Pineapple Sage – Fresh leaves added to flavour drinks and desserts, great in cocktails. Azure Sage – A large plant with blue flowers and is used as an herbal panacea in Mexico. Clary Sage has a strong aromatic leaf and is used as a throat gargle and infusions and is also used in perfumeries. Sage when added to Comfrey, Plantain or Paddy’s Lucerne as a tea is great when you are not feeling well.
It is also great when purchased as an essential oil, but remember this is a very strong herb. It is strongly antibacterial so great to clean your home when there is colds and flu around. Also, this herb can be used for the following health complaints, catarrh, arthritis, bronchitis and spasms. Remember always buy from a respected provider and normally it is about $37 dollars a bottle.

SYDNEY – in person readings one day only – Saturday, 25th July – Hawkesbury Natural Therapies Centre, Richmond.
PARTIES for a big group – hens’ day, baby showers – this is where everyone has as 15 minute reading – this is lots of fun for baby showers, birthdays, hens nights etc. and it is $25 per reading these readings are not recorded because there are usually too many people and it just takes up too much time, but I am able to take notes or the person having the reading can take them if they wish, I am also happy for them to record on their phones.
GROUP OF FRIENDS – I have had numerous enquiries about parties and how many people you need to host one. It obviously depends on where you live – if you live about an hour from Newcastle CBD, I would need a minimum of 8 people having 15 minute readings ($25 each) if you want to have ½ hour readings ($50 each) then a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people would be appreciated. If you live within a 2 – 2.5 hour drive, then a fee of $50+ to cover travel costs will be required, depending on how far you are away. And it would be a minimum of 6 x ½ hour readings and a maximum of 8. I am also okay with a mix of readings as in some having ½ hour and others 15 minutes. These are all recorded and emailed to you within 24 hours.
TYPES OF READINGS –

BABY READING – This is for the new member of the family, a general one page reading giving an outline of their personality, areas of interest and things they may achieve and also some hints in regards to the more negative aspects of their personality and how to understand them.
