mothers day
Today is Mother’s Day and this day is to recognize ….
The mothers who never got to hold their child
The mothers that wake up to burnt toast and warm tea
The mothers who have had to bury a child
The mothers who have been there for their child’s wedding
The mothers who may not have given birth to their own child,
but love the children they have in their care with all their heart.
The mothers whose children no longer speak to them
The mothers who are up all night with sick children
The mothers who lie awake wondering what that would have been like
It is also for those children who …..
Never knew their mother
Have been blessed with a mother who loves them unconditionally
Have had to reconcile themselves that their mother wasn’t the mother
that they needed
Whose mother has rejected them
Who have had to bury their mother and miss them every single day.
Who appreciate the mother that they have
Who share their mother with others who don’t have one
Who realise upon their mothers death that there was so much that they never said.
To everyone, if you have a wonderful mother, cherish her, appreciate her, not just today, but every single day, for one day, she won’t be here. If you don’t have a great relationship with your mother endeavor to be a better mother/parent to your own children, if you choose to have them.
