Responsibility
I believe that we are not responsible for the programming we received as children. What we are taught and what we observe is not our decision because as children we are guided by the adults around us. However, I do believe that we ARE responsible for what we choose to continue believing today, as adults. As an adult we are able to make decisions for ourselves and remember that if you have children, you are now responsible for what they are taught and what they observe.
As adults, we can choose to keep an open mind and an open heart, or we can live our lives blaming everyone around us for how we are feeling and why we are unhappy and for what we don’t have, but one thing that you need to always remember is this: You don’t have to be who you’ve always been. You can change if you want to.
There is an English phrase that goes like this, “But we’ve always done things this way” and it’s probably the most dangerous one that people can believe.
