Should you find your life purpose?
I’m actually a bit hesitant to answer either yes or no to this question.
Why?
Because it’s a bit of a double-barrelled shot gun either way.
If I said yes, then people become all stressed and think that they’re supposed to know their life purpose and they don’t and spend the rest of their life trying to work out what it is.
If I say no, then people don’t try to find their life purpose and will repeat everything in the next life and make this life miserable.
Can we replace life purpose with soul purpose?
I actually do feel that there’s a difference.
When we think of our life purpose it’s as though we become possessed with finding some grand scheme that we have to start or take over or make our mark on the world.
However, when we say soul purpose, it’s gentler, calmer and doesn’t have to be this thing that overtakes everything.
So, how do you find your soul purpose.
Easy and not easy.
Your souls purpose is to be content. That’s it.
If you have the urge to climb a mountain, then climb it, because your soul is wanting you to do that. If you want to be a humanitarian lawyer and get up on the world stage, then do that, because your soul wants you to.
Everyone’s soul is different and I really feel that instead of finding our ‘life purpose’ we need to focus more on living an authentic life to our souls.
Forget about what society tells you that you should be doing.
Instead, take some time out from your busy life and really listen to what your soul is telling you.
What makes you happy? What brings joy to your life?
Making patchwork quilts? Building toys from timber and donating them?
That’s what it is.
That’s what making your soul happy is, it’s as easy as that.
It doesn’t have to be what you do for a living.
It doesn’t have to set the world on fire, nor do you need to leave your ‘mark’ for all to see.
You just need to do things that bring you joy, that bring you calm and a feeling of contentment.
The key for you now, is to really listen to your soul and what it wants to do, removing all the dogma that you’ve been told, what society expects of you, and connect with your soul and start living an authentic life for you.
Because it’s YOUR authentic life, not anyone else’s.
Don’t copy others but find your own path and then you’ll be living your soul purpose.
Love & light
