Visiting Spiritual Places
I love going to spiritual places.
I don’t necessarily mean churches, though I have to admit, I do love sitting in a big old church.
There’s just something about the energy of spiritual places.
Have you ever been to a place where you just felt …. Well, calm?
I’ve been to a number of Aboriginal within Australia.
However, what I wanted to share with you was one of the spiritual places that my Gorgeous Guy and I experienced on a recent trip to New Zealand.
I do always make sure that I ask permission from the spirits in the place that I want to go. Nothing fancy, I just close my eyes and open my heart and mind and just ask.
When I feel the energy response, then I’ll continue to walk through / onto the land or into the space that I want to visit.
Cape Reinga was an amazing place when it comes to energy!
If you don’t know what the story is with Cape Reinga let me give you a quick explanation.
It is believed that Maori’s came to New Zealand about 800 years ago and that their homeland was Hawai’i having travelled by canoe from the islands which is pretty amazing in itself.
Cape Reinga is a tip at the top of the north island and it’s also where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific ocean, which in itself, creates amazing energy.
There is a big old Pohutukawa tree that is believed to be 800 years old and it’s growing from a rock at the Cape.
The Maori’s believe that when they die, their soul goes to this tree. The soul follows the roots down into the ocean and travels back to their homeland of Hawai’i.
We were still a couple of kilometres from arriving at Cape Reinga and we both just started to feel excited and uplifted.
I mean really excited and uplifted!
All I can say is that I felt lighter, happier, at peace as we started to get closer.
That the our souls believe that those souls that were travelling to this place were feeling the same thing.
They were going home!
That their happiness at going home was so powerful that it actually permeated the air around that point.
I really could have stayed there indefinitely.
Just absorbing that beautiful energy and I have to say that my husband felt exactly the same way.
Even though he has experienced a similar feeling elsewhere, funnily enough, in Hawai’i, he has never experienced to the extent of Cape Reinga.
As he said, Hawai’i was a 7/10 and Cape Reinga was a 10/10 when it comes to beautiful energy.
Even if you’re not someone who would normally be able to experience energy changes, I do urge you when you are visiting a sacred place to the native inhabitants, to firstly, be respectful.
Then just take the time to connect with yourself and how you’re feeling.
It’s worth the experience!
Love and light
