What’s your dream?
What’s your dream?
We all have different dreams, what’s your dream? Is it to have your own business, where you can do what you love every single day? Where you set your hours, where you have freedoms to do other things as well?
Is your dream to own your home or maybe travel the world?
When you come for a reading I just get given all this information for you to start living your dream, especially around working for yourself, it’s amazing the amount of business advice that can come through!
When it comes to small business I always try and be supportive, because, hey! I’m a small business too!
When you’re purchasing something that has been handmade from a small business, remember that it’s been made with love. A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into creating that item. I will always try to find what I need in a small business before heading to big business. I’ll walk around the mall here in Newcastle, down Hunter Street, up Darby Street to see if I can find what I need, if not, and only then will I head to a big shopping centre.
Those small businesses are someone’s dream, that’s how I see them. The dream of being your own boss. The dream of seeing if you can achieve what you’ve always wanted to achieve.
Being able to do what you love is what life should be about.
An entrepreneur works 100 hours per week so that they don’t have to work 40 hours for someone else. – Richard Branson
That statement by Richard Branson is true. Seriously, I think some people think I do readings and that’s it! I spend a lot of time doing administration kind of work, like writing this blog! Facebook posts, accounts all those really non-exciting things, they take up more of my time than doing actual readings.
Your own business results in a lot of blood sweat and tears, constantly wondering if you have enough money for the bills and for the employees if you have them. You constantly think about it, pretty much 24/7 but, I love it, I love what I do.
Not cut out to have your own business? That’s perfectly OK.
If you’ve been thinking of starting up your own business, seriously do a certificate IV in small business management, so you can get your head around the business side of it, just because you’re creative and good at what you do, doesn’t mean you can run a business, it’s two different things!
But, please don’t give up on your dream if that’s something that you’ve been wanting to do. Sure, it’s hard and if you have a job you’ll be doing that one as well as your own as you try and get it off the ground. So, you’re going to be working two jobs for a while but when you know that it’s to eventually work for yourself 100% – it’s worth it!
Letterbox drop, have stalls do all of those things need to be done to help get you ‘out there’ in the world.
Believe in yourself and what you do. That’s just so important.
Don’t give up at the first hurdle, think outside the square, see if you can do things differently, approach things differently, speak to someone that’s been there and done that.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. It may sound strange but I don’t associate with other clairvoyants, I also don’t follow any of their pages, I just focus on what I want to offer those that follow me, I listen to them, I don’t worry what others are doing.
And lastly, help others as you get help. I purchase a little $10 bouquet of flowers from Blooms On Darby Street, each Monday. The other week, I realised I had a big glass vase in my pantry that I don’t use and won’t use, but I also didn’t want to throw it away, so I took it down to them to see if they wanted it, which they did and they gave me my bouquet for free! Woohoo! I don’t think that would happen if I took the vase to Coles! LO
Join a couple of Facebook business pages. A commercial / product photographer is wanting to get her business off the ground. So, I sent down my Oracle Cards, a couple of my books and the Monster Box and have received over 90 photo’s from her! Thank you Tanya’s Photo’s – please check her out and if you can use her services, please do
If it’s your dream to one day have your own business, then make that ‘one day’ today.
This week I want you to believe in yourself, make sure you do the research that you need to do for your business, don’t rush things, but also don’t procrastinate.
If you want to travel, then put the steps in place to make that happen, do the research.
Why wait?
